Sydney [Australia], February 3: Australia's New South Wales Police Force said on Saturday that 15 kg of cocaine, with an estimated street value of 22.5 million Australian dollars (about 14.7 million U.S. dollars), has been seized in Sydney's Inner West region.
At about 1:00 p.m. local time on Friday, detectives arrived at a property in Dulwich Hill for inquiries into the supply of prohibited drugs, according to the state police.
A man removed a bag from the boot of a vehicle before he was arrested at the scene and officers located a 1 kg block of cocaine in the bag.
The 22-year-old man was taken to a nearby police station, with a search warrant executed at the premises in Drummoyne just after 5 p.m. local time.
An additional 14 kg of cocaine was found when the garage was searched.
Police estimated that the total street value of the seized cocaine could reach 22.5 million Australian dollars (about 14.7 million U.S. dollars).
The offender was charged with two counts of supplying prohibited drugs in large commercial quantities.
He has been refused bail twice and will remain in custody to appear in a local court in April.
