Riyadh [Saudi Arabia], July 29: The Saudi Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that it summoned the Danish charge d'affaires over the recent burning of copies of the Quran in the Nordic country.
The ministry expressed to the Danish diplomat the kingdom's rejection of all acts that could promote religious hatred and called for halting such acts that violate religious beliefs and international laws and norms, according to a ministry statement.
The move is in response to recent insults to the Islamic holy book of Quran conducted by protesters from the far-right Danish group of Danish Patriots in Denmark's capital Copenhagen.
