Cairo [Egypt], September 28: A Syrian military patrol has blocked the path of a convoy of US troops in Al Hasakah province in northeastern Syria and drove it away, Syrian media reported on Wednesday.
The convoy, consisting of four armoured vehicles and covered by two helicopters, tried to pass through the area, Syrian state broadcaster Al-Akhbar reported.
It was intercepted in the village of Um al Kher in the Tell Tamer region, the report said.
The US military currently controls parts of the provinces of Raqqa, Deirez-Zor and Al-Hasakah, where Syria's largest oil and gas fields are located.
The Syrian government considers the presence of the US military on its territory as occupation and state piracy. (Sputnik)
