Tunis [Tunisia], January 20: Tunisian President Kais Saied received on Friday visiting Mauritania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, said a statement released by the presidency.
During the meeting, the President praised the strength of the distinguished relations and deep-rooted cultural ties that unite Tunisia and Mauritania.
Saied stressed Tunisia's keenness to facilitate more cooperation and consensus among African countries on bilateral and multilateral levels.
He reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian people's struggle for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State.
Ould Merzoug, for his part, extended a written message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani to Saied, said the statement, without elaborating.
